Legal Operations Specialist

Work location: Austin, or Houston, Texas

The Legal Operations Specialist will support the Legal team at Exceed Energy by driving operational excellence and leveraging technology and process improvements to enhance department effectiveness.

This role will collaborate closely with attorneys, department leaders, and cross-functional teams to streamline legal workflows, support strategic planning, and ensure the Legal function remains efficient, data-driven, and innovative.
Responsibilities include overseeing administrative processes, evaluating and implementing legal tech tools, managing departmental initiatives, and enabling continuous improvement through thoughtful change management.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in legal operations, an eye for efficiency, and a proactive mindset to help scale a high-performing legal team. This position reports to the President and COO of Exceed Energy

Responsibilities
Administrative and Team Support: Coordinate day-to-day administrative operations for the Legal team, including scheduling meetings, managing travel logistics, preparing documents, tracking expenses, and maintaining organized records and correspondence.

Legal Operations and Process Improvement: Lead core legal operations initiatives such as vendor management, budgeting support, and resource tracking. Identify and implement process improvements to increase team efficiency, standardize workflows, and reduce operational friction.

Data Management and Strategic Reporting: Develop, maintain, and analyze dashboards and tools that track legal team performance metrics. Provide data-driven insights to support long-term strategic planning and help quantify legal’s business impact.

Technology and Innovation: Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging legal technologies—including AI solutions—to optimize service delivery, improve knowledge management, and streamline internal processes.

Change Management and Culture Building: Support change management efforts that promote adaptability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Legal department. Help drive a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Exceed Energy and external legal partners to align on shared goals, execute legal projects, and deliver seamless operational support.

Required Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of experience in legal operations, legal assistant, or similar administrative roles, ideally in a corporate legal department or law firm

Strong familiarity with legal operations tools, contract and document management systems, and AI or legal tech platforms

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with data analysis and reporting tools

Familiarity with Project Management softwares- Microsoft Project, Sitetracker.

Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and present operational and performance data to support business decisions

Proven track record of implementing process improvements and supporting organizational change initiatives

Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and discretion in handling confidential information

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Well Design Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas

Responsibilities
Well Design Expertise: Lead the design and development of geothermal wells, considering geological formations, reservoir characteristics, production goals, and environmental regulations.

Technical Prowess: Utilize wellbore modeling software to optimize well trajectory, casing design, and completion strategies for maximizing energy production and wellbore integrity.

Collaboration is Key: Work closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams to ensure the well design aligns with project requirements, safety standards, and cost-effectiveness.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential drilling and production risks by incorporating best practices in well design and completion.

Documentation Champion: Prepare clear and concise well design documents, including wellbore schematics, casing and completion programs, and technical specifications.

Staying Ahead of the Curve: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geothermal well drilling technology, reservoir engineering principles, and best practices.

Qualification
Master’s degree in petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of experience in geothermal well design or a similar field (e.g., oil & gas well design).

Strong understanding of geothermal reservoir engineering concepts, wellbore mechanics, and drilling technologies.

Proficient in wellbore modeling software and other relevant engineering design tools such as DrillPlan, Petrel, WellCAT, Compass, PetroVR.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualification
Experience with geothermal drilling practices and specific completion techniques used in geothermal applications.

Knowledge of geothermal reservoir simulation software.

Familiarity with relevant wellbore design codes and standards.
Experience working with regulatory agencies on geothermal well permitting processes.

Senior Geologist / Operational Geophysicist

Objective: To work collaboratively with other geoscientists, and link with engineers and business development staff, to enhance geological understanding, support and contribute to technical work on new and prospective geothermal power projects of interest to Exceed Energy in USA and Globe.

Location: Austin, or Houston, Texas

Duties / Responsibilities:
Contribute to or manage geothermal geoscience work for Exceed Energy in North America and overseas, as required

Propose, undertake and report on geothermal resource assessments in combination with other Exceed Energy geoscience, engineering and business development staff, and contractors

Perform or manage various assignments, including thermal feature and well bore fluid sampling, geological field mapping, well targeting and associated geological logging, evaluation and activities related to investigations during and post-well drilling, to aid development decisions by Exceed Energy

Help to develop and grow Exceed Energy’s commercial interests, and elsewhere as directed, by contributing to marketing, costing, developing and completion of projects, client and contractor liaison

Manage technical aspects of projects, including overview of services provided by contractors, be responsible for quality control and timeliness

Support (and mentor as appropriate) Exceed Energy’s geoscience, business development and technical staff, and direct contractors involved in projects, in North America and elsewhere.

Communicate results and project information through internal reporting, and bring to the attention of senor staff promptly any issues impacting project viability

Represent Exceed Energy at conferences and workshops, and present results if requested.

Comply with health and safety responsibilities

Qualification:
A master’s and or phD degree in geology, geochemistry, geophysics or related sciences and comparable commercial experience in geothermal industry

10+ years working experience as a geoscientist in the geothermal industry, preferable with strong geochemistry experience.

Specialist skills applicable to geothermal exploration science (e.g. geological core logging and related well services, field (exploration, mapping) experience, 3D visualization/GIS skills, resource evaluation), understanding of hydrothermal systems, fluid-rock interaction processes and principles of stratigraphy.

Data Science, Machine Learning and AI related skills for fault interpretation, seismic studies is critical for efficient operational decision making.

Commercial focus, with practical experience and interest solving technically challenging concepts and problems

Individual initiative and ability to contribute effectively to the team, combined with personal integrity and professional ethics
Excellent communication skills in English

Proven record of quality scientific writing and reporting

Reservoir Engineering Manager
Location: Houston, or Austin – Texas

The Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing reservoir models to simulate and forecast the behavior of the subsurface to support Exceed Energy Energy’s geothermal exploration and development activities.

This position will play a key role in shaping the development strategy, evaluating investment opportunities, and optimizing reservoir performance across Exceed Energy’s growing project portfolio. Responsibilities will include applying advanced reservoir simulation and geomechanics software to perform history matching, production forecasting, well completion and stimulation treatment design optimization, and reservoir management optimization.

The Reservoir Engineer will design and implement well testing, reservoir monitoring, stress measurement, and other data acquisition programs to continuously improve Exceed Energy’s field operations. This position will report to the Reservoir Engineering Advisor- Dr Mayank Tyagi.

Responsibilities
Create static and dynamic reservoir models to simulate fluid flow, pressure distribution, and reservoir performance for Exceed Energy’s enhanced geothermal projects

Conduct history matching to validate geothermal reservoir simulation models based on field-wide production and pressure data

Incorporate field data from stimulation, production, and well testing to calibrate reservoir models and fracture geometries
Perform sensitivity analysis to evaluate uncertainties and optimize reservoir parameters

Use reservoir simulation to perform production forecasts to evaluate various reservoir management strategies and development plans

Work with a cross-functional team of geologists, geophysicists, and drilling & completions engineers to integrate a variety of subsurface data and develop geothermal reservoir conceptual models

Analyze production and injection data, including pressure transient data, rate-transient data, and diagnostic fracture injection test (DFIT) data and incorporate findings into reservoir models

Conduct probabilistic production forecasts using uncertainty analysis and variable model parameters

Develop uncertainty quantification and complete production decline curve analysis for reserves forecasting of Exceed Energy projects

Integrate geological, and petrophysical data to generate reservoir models used to support exploration projects
Develop geomechanically models and evaluate subsurface state of stress

Prepare comprehensive technical evaluations with recommendations

Work with the resource team to identify and evaluate opportunities to deploy innovative technologies to improve reservoir performance

Participate in industry meetings and conferences

Required Qualifications
10+ years of engineering experience in the oil and gas or geothermal industries, advanced degree in lieu of industry experience

Master’s degree in engineering, PhD preferred

Demonstrated background in computational physics and subsurface reservoir simulation

Experience running commercial reservoir simulation software including Eclipse, CMG, Tough2, Volsung, MATLAB etc.

Experience with Python programming and developing scripts for in-house software development.

Experience extracting data from databases and utilizing large datasets

Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing code for advanced reservoir simulation and reservoir geomechanics software

Experience in water floods, Supercritical CO2 flooding, well stimulation techniques, and thermal recovery methods in oil and gas applications

Experience in geothermal reservoir engineering in conventional hydrothermal systems

Experience with high performance computing (HPC)
Experience in data analytics

Sr Project and Electrical Power Engineer

Location: Houston or Austin, Texas

Description
The Electrical Power Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of electrical power systems. This role will be a key member of our Power Delivery Team, working on diverse projects related to power delivery and systems, including transmission, distribution, substations, and renewable energy integration. The Electrical Engineer will report to the Lead Electrical Power Engineer.

Responsibilities
Assist with engineering, financial, and technical analysis for a variety of power-related engineering projects

Conduct power system planning and operations analysis, including reliability, and economic dispatch

Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination, transient stability, switching transient studies using power system modeling software

Apply fundamental electrical engineering principles to project planning and analysis

Analyze life-cycle project impacts by developing cost assumptions and engineering performance estimates

Ensure assigned projects comply with all applicable company and electrical industry standards and recommendations throughout all phases of the project, e.g. NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, API, NEMA, etc.

Interface with engineering contractors, plant personnel, E&I vendors, construction contractors, and engineers through all project phases

Provide electrical and power technical support on multi-discipline projects

Provide input to scope and design of assigned projects; Identify front-end engineering & design (FEED) and Implementation deliverables necessary for the electrical scope of the project

Provide timely feedback on deliverables / estimates to achieve schedule milestones on assigned projects

Communicate site preferences and approved manufacturers to engineering contractors on the front-end of each project

Take ownership of electrical work packages and work directly with the engineering contractor to oversee progress at regular intervals

Review and approve equipment spec sheets prior to procurement and support the purchasing of equipment and materials

Support development of company electrical equipment specification, engineering and installation standards

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or phD in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program

Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred

Basic knowledge of standard electrical engineering techniques, principles, and procedures

Working knowledge of NESC and NEC in typical capital projects
Familiarity with electrical analysis programs (ETAP, SKM)

Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, with demonstrated critical thinking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of electrical power systems design

7+ years of experience in electrical power systems design
Experience with renewable energy integration and coal-fired power plant retirement studies

Project management experience
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
